In line with our mission, we are seeking a Proposals and Marketing Coordinator to drive Barnes & Noble College?s business growth. This role involves developing high-quality proposals and presentations that communicate our market-leading solutions and differentiate us from competitors. By collaborating with sales, field teams, and other stakeholders, the Coordinator ensures proposals meet partner needs, align with BNC goals, and facilitate successful deal closures… Additionally, the Coordinator supports presentations for industry events, webinars, and speaking engagements, maintains proposal templates, and streamlines the proposal process.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
? Proposal Development:
? Create and develop compelling content for proposals (RFPs) and presentations, ensuring they effectively communicate BNC value proposition and differentiation from competitors.
? Develop proposal outlines, organize, and compile all components, capturing technical information from subject matter experts and developing proofs.
? Format proposal documents using InDesign to ensure compliance with RFP requirements, ease of reading, and visual appeal.
? Ensure submission deadlines and milestones are met, sending reminders to the team and escalating issues as necessary.
? Maintain and enhance RFP templates, creating a document library and FAQs for efficient proposal development.
? Presentation and Event Support:
? Create and develop content for sales presentations that align with messaging strategy and presentation objectives.
? Develop presentations for Industry events, BNC hosted webinars, and speaking engagements, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals.
? Host pre-event meetings with internal attendees to prepare talking points and ensure readiness.
? Collaborate with sales and field teams to align strategies and ensure cohesive messaging.
? Coordinate with partners and other subject matter experts to incorporate their content and insights.
? Industry Knowledge and Content Management:
? Maintain a clear understanding of current service and product capabilities and value statements to be incorporated into proposals and presentations.
? Monitor competitor positioning to maintain BNC’s competitive differentiation.
? Additional responsibilities as required.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
? 1 to 3 years overall experience in marketing/communications, including writing and editing, development of marketing materials, marketing plan development, and/or public relations.
? Bachelor?s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
? Knowledge and understanding of the RFP response field and formal proposal development processes such as the Shipley method is required.
? Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications, especially in PowerPoint.
? Proficient in InDesign; knowledge of Photoshop is a plus.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to competing deadlines
? Ability to work well with senior executives, sales, field teams, and other business partners.
? Strong organization and collaboration skills with a keen attention to detail.

The hiring rate for this position is $22 – 25 / hour. The actual pay may vary based on a number of factors, including professional experience, hiring location, skills, competencies, and may fall outside of the range shown.
