AOL is seeking an energetic, passionate, and entrepreneurial Design Director with a strong and eclectic Visual Design & UX portfolio to lead several key design initiatives across the full portfolio of AOL products. We?re rebuilding the brand that started it all, and by all we mean the internet. AOL forever changed the world and we?re bringing it back! Responsibilities AOL designers collaborate with partners to define the vision for new features, while owning and driving the craftsmanship for every interaction and visual design detail. Day-to-day, you will: Turn broad, ambiguous user and business challenges into clear, valuable and delightful solutions; Connect user research and data insights to design decisions at every stage of development. Mentor and give feedback with humor, grace and empathy to teammates and cross-functional partners. About you You’re likely to succeed in this role, if you are someone who: Delivers consistent, polished and balanced layouts, through typography, color and visual hierarchy. Solves user problems in creative ways that go beyond the obvious and expected. Demonstrates high emotional intelligence when interacting with teammates and other co-workers. Presents designs clearly and confidently to facilitate useful feedback while shifting approach based on the audience and desired outcome. Takes initiative and accountability for timelines, deliverables and outcomes. Contributes to the design community both inside your company and beyond; and Desires and takes action to grow professional skills. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in digital product design for web and mobile. Portfolio that demonstrates exceptional visual design instincts and expertise in interaction design, and product thinking. Demonstrated history of leading a user-centered design process from end-to-end. Skills such as illustration, animation, data visualization, conducting user interviews, front-end programming or data science are a plus Yahoo is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. The compensation for this position ranges from $143,625.00 – $299,375.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
