Job Title: Instructional Designer specializing in Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
Job Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Design Engaging Student Book Content
Create visually appealing and informative student book content that simplifies complex ICT concepts for maximum comprehension and engagement.
2. Develop Interactive Digital Assets
Craft interactive and visually stimulating digital assets, including e-Learning modules, multimedia content, and simulations, to complement the student learning process.
3. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts
Partner closely with internal ICT subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and alignment of content with the latest industry trends and developments.
4. Leverage Technology
Utilize industry-standard authoring tools and software to enhance the interactivity and visual appeal of digital assets, keeping pace with technological advancements.
5. Ensure Accessibility
Implement accessibility features within… digital assets to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all students, adhering to accessibility standards and guidelines.
6. Assess and Improve
Develop effective assessment strategies to gauge student understanding and gather feedback, using performance data to continually enhance content quality.
7. Stay Informed
Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies within the field of ICT, and proactively incorporate relevant advancements into learning materials to improve student learning experiences.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, ICT, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
2. Proven experience in designing digital educational content, particularly in the field of ICT.
3. Proficiency in using authoring tools and software for digital content creation.
4. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with subject matter experts.
5. Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices.
6. An innovative mindset and a passion for creating engaging educational materials.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
1. Advanced Degree: A Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, ICT, or a related field would be highly preferred, demonstrating a deeper level of expertise.
2. Multimedia Proficiency: Proficiency in multimedia design tools, video editing software, and graphic design programs to create visually captivating digital assets.
3. Experience in Curriculum Development: Experience in curriculum development, course planning, or instructional design, particularly in the context of ICT education.

4. Certifications: Relevant certifications in instructional design, e-Learning development, or accessibility compliance (e.g., Certified Instructional Designer, Certified Accessibility
Specialist) would be a plus.

5. Project Management Skills: Strong project management skills to efficiently handle multiple content creation projects, meet deadlines, and coordinate with teams.

6. Adaptive Learning Experience: Familiarity with adaptive learning technologies and strategies to tailor content to individual student needs.

7. Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS): Experience with LMS platforms and their integration into educational content delivery.

8. Coding/Programming Skills: Basic coding or programming skills in ICT-related languages (e.g.,
Python, Java) could be advantageous for creating interactive simulations.

9. Data Analysis: Proficiency in data analysis tools or methodologies to assess the effectiveness of content and make data-driven improvements.

10. Digital Marketing Knowledge: Understanding of digital marketing principles and strategies to promote and distribute educational content effectively.

11. Multilingual Proficiency: Proficiency in multiple languages, particularly relevant languages in the context of ICT education, to reach a diverse student audience.

12. Experience in Online Learning: Prior experience in online or remote learning environments, including familiarity with virtual classroom tools and strategies.
