Requisition Working Title Postal Tech Position Grade 05 Position Summary…
The University of New Mexico, Office of the University Controller, also known as Financial Services, located on Main Campus is responsible for all central accounting functions for the University.
It is the responsibility of the Controller’s Office aka Financial Services to ensure compliance with all financial policies, rules, and regulations adopted by the University or imposed by external agencies, including state and federal audit requirements, following generally accepted accounting practices. Additionally, the Controller’s Office oversees the maintenance of the official financial records of the University.
Within Financial Services is the Mailing/Shipping & Receiving department which is the mail and package processing facility for the University of New Mexico. The department is seeking two hardworking, dependable individuals to join the team. The position receives, sorts, and delivers USPS, UPS, Fed Ex and campus mail on a daily basis.
The position requires extensive physical activity. While on a route, this position will require strenuous physical work; stair climbing, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 100 pounds for extended periods of time.
The positions also prepares and processes outgoing mail and parcels. May operate computerized postage metering and weighing equipment and may work some evenings and/or weekends as required.
This position is on-site, M-F
Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Conditions of Employment
? Possession of a valid New Mexico driver’s license is a requirement for this job.
? All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
? Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
? Must be able to work evening and/or weekend overtime as required.
? Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University’s influenza vaccination requirement.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
