TelevisaUnivision at Univision Chicago is looking for a Meteorologist to join our morning news team! Meteorologists will be responsible for live weather reporting for 5am, 6am and midday newscast. The ideal candidate must be a certified broadcast meteorologist and have an ?always-on? weather mindset. He or she should be an excellent communicator, possess commanding and professional on-camera presence with top-notch judgment. Strong knowledge required of severe weather including tornadoes and winter storms. ABOUT YOU: Our meteorologists are aggressive when covering active weather, keeping our audience informed across multiple platforms. Our meteorologists are master in severe weather coverage as well as winter weather. Our meteorologists work in a collaborative and supportive role with our news producers, assignment desk, reporters, and our weather team. They are key to ensuring we produce our weather content creatively, on air, online. YOUR DAY-DAY: Produce and effectively present… daily forecast Develop strategies for multiple dayparts, identifying opportunities to produce content for specific newscasts Clearly communicating weather forecast and risk for potential active weather across platforms Conceive creative graphics and execute them on air and online Work in supportive role with other meteorologists to help produce content Coordinates with news department to produce news coverage of active weather events Produce and share content specifically designed for digital platforms Work in supportive role with other meteorologists to help produce content YOU HAVE: College degree in meteorological sciences or equivalent technical training in a meteorology-related institutional setting 2+ years of experience as a meteorologist, on-air in medium to large size markets Well-versed in the latest weather technology, including WSI Max Thrive under pressure, meeting tight deadlines Flexibility to work any shift including overnight, weekends and holidays CBM/NWA seal is desired High regard for details Ability to prioritize, self-start and meet deadlines Knowledge of synoptic meteorology, tropical and radar forecasting tools Technology savvy with excellent computer skills Must be willing to work from office in Chicago, IL. *This position will require the employee to be a member or join SAG-AFTRA.
