We are seeking a dedicated Coding Team Lead to join our dynamic team. As a Coding Team Lead, you’ll collaborate closely with Coding and Billing Specialists, ensuring accurate, comprehensive, and efficient medical records coding and abstracting. Qualifications And Skills
Preferably an Associate degree in a related field; relevant work experience in health information management may supplement or substitute for a degree.
Two years of outpatient coding experience if certified as a CPC/CCS.
Advanced understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease progression, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS Level II Coding Systems.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in standard MS Office products.
Ability to work independently with initiative, adaptability under pressure, and prioritize tasks effectively.
Job Responsibilities And Duties
Supervise coding staff and provide positive coaching.
Assist in the hiring process for coding team staff.
Monitor staff productivity and maintain quality standards.
Stay updated on coding schemes, regulatory rules, and database operations.
Notify and update clients on new, revised, or deleted codes.
Serve as an internal and external resource for coding and reimbursement information.
Organize and monitor daily workloads, ensuring workflow efficiency.
Conduct outpatient medical record audits for accuracy and compliance.
Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and reports for performance tracking.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for documentation procurement.
Troubleshoot hardware or software issues, liaising with IT support for resolution.
Cultivate teamwork and strong customer relationships through exceptional service.
Work alongside physicians to ensure accurate information and optimal reimbursement.
Enhance training materials and conduct sessions for coding and charge entry specialists.
